2. Mount Hallasan
Up for a hike? Then climb Korea’s highest mountain, Mount Hallasan! Located in the centre of Jeju Island, Mount Hallasan is a dormant volcano that’s been declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Despite its high altitude, it’s quite easy to climb, and most people can make it to the peak and back down within a day. From the peak, hikers are rewarded with a huge beautiful crater lake as well as breathtaking views of Jeju.
However, if you’re not up for a hike to the peak, fret not. Mount Hallasan also has seven scenic trails, each less than 10km. There are also nearly 6,000 species of plants and animals in the area, so nature lovers can knock themselves out! Do make sure you check the weather conditions before going and dress warmly as the winds can be quite strong. With so much at this beautiful Jeju Island attraction to look forward to, Mount Hallasan is a must-see for your bucket list.

3. Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls
We all know Jeju to be a paradise for nature lovers, boasting interesting rock formations, pristine beaches, and breathtaking waterfalls. Another addition to this list of Jeju Island attractions is Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls, also known as the Pond of God.
There are three sections in these waterfalls: The first waterfall separates to produce the second and third, whereby the water eventually flows into the sea. Furthermore, around the subtropical falls, an abundance of flora and fauna exist! For instance, you can find the rare and unique Solipnan reeds and Skeleton fork ferns, making Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls a true botanist’s paradise.
If you visit Cheonjeyeon Waterfall in May during the Chilseonyeo Festival, don’t forget to bring your swimsuit to enjoy a soak in this aquatic oasis!

4. Seonim Bridge
If you venture to the cave at Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls, you might come across the bright red Seonim Bridge! Also known as Chilseonyeogyo (Seven Nymphs Bridge), this moniker is attributed to the seven nymphs carved on both sides of the bridge. The nymphs symbolise the seven beautiful and legendary nymphs that would descend from heaven at night.
In fact, the Chilseonyeo Festival in May celebrates the coming of the nymphs. Not to mention, this arch bridge certainly makes the perfect backdrop for some beautiful photo opportunities!

5. Seongsan Ilchulbong
Here’s one more UNESCO World Heritage Site that calls Jeju Island its home! Also known as Sunrise Peak to non-Korean speakers, Seongsan Ilchubong is famed for its picturesque sunrise views one can marvel at.
At first glance, this Jeju Island attraction looks like a giant fortress, with an abundance of rocks at the top. But don’t be fooled, this mountain is actually an extinct volcano with a huge crater at its peak, not unlike Mount Hallasan.
More than 100,000 years ago, the crater rose from the sea in a series of volcanic eruptions. Today, you’ll find a ridge connecting all areas of Seongsan Ilchubong, making it perfect for walking and horse-riding to the nearby Seongsan Village. In the springtime, the mountain’s peak is covered in a field of yellow rapeseed flowers, making your climb up the mountain well worth the effort.

6. Teddy Bear Museum
Teddy bear lovers, go crazy here! Among the most well-known museums in Korea, Jeju’s Teddy Bear Museum displays thousands of teddy bears from all over the world. What’s more, some of these teddy bears have been painstakingly designed and created by hand. Walk through the history of teddy bears in the History Hall, where you can find bear versions of famous historical figures such as the Mona Lisa, or recreations of famous paintings, like The Creation of Adam by Michaelangelo (see below)!
For the artsy folks, get creative at the Art Hall and marvel at the latest artworks and animation characters. See if you can spot the world’s smallest teddy bear, measuring just 4.55mm. Furthermore, in the Project Exhibit Hall, the exhibits pay homage to popular entertainment, such as their very own America’s Next Top Bear!
If you need some fresh air, head out into the garden and hang out with the huge teddy bear sculptures over tea! With such an elaborate display of adorable bears, this one’s definitely on the list for families (and just about anyone who loves teddy bears, really).
